Manchester United player ratings vs Wolves: Anthony Elanga and Alex Telles superb – Tyrone Marshall

Dean Henderson

He had very little to do and was unhappy with the goal. Can take credit for organizing the defense well and was calm in possession of the ball when the ball reached him. 7

Brandon williams

A few sloppy touches at first, but he really settled into the game and relished the battle defensively. Unlucky not to score with a late opportunity in the first half. 7

Eric Bailly

Best performance since signing his new contract. Wolves didn’t have much of a physical presence in attack but Bailly was solid as the pressure mounted. 7

Axel Tuanzebe

Lost Fabio Silva for the Wolves equalizer, with space to find the front to run along the canal. Other than that another solid performance and part of a Wednesday start. 7

Alex Such

Without doubt his best performance since his debut in Paris. Sent in a very good first ball for Elanga, involved in the goal and very well defended, apart from a reckless moment against Traore. 8

Nemanja Matic

Showed his experience with a calm performance in midfield. Not particularly catchy, but defended when needed and protected all four backs well. 7

Donny van de Beek

His best performance in a long time and a sign that he has what it takes to play the role of a deep midfielder. Used the ball really well, went forward when the occasion allowed it and also has good defense. 8

Given a difficult change to the center-forward, Wolves’ three center-backs towered over him, but showed an odd moment of brilliant footwork and worked hard. 6

Juan mata

A match that will be remembered for its decisive penalty but which struggled to influence the debates far beyond. United haven’t seen a lot of the ball in the attacking zones. 7

Daniel James

Set a huge cross from which Elanga opened the scoring but got lost a bit after that. I really should have scored at the start of the second half, but the finish was forgettable. 6

Anthony Elanga

Had three chances in the first 15 minutes and took the third superbly. A remarkable performance on his second start for the club and while United saw less ball as the game went on, he continued to provide an outlet. 8

Took a risk with the chances but coaxed his team throughout the second half of the sideline and oversaw a brilliant away record. 8
