The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will hold a virtual rally to celebrate the 81st birthday of party leader Sharad Pawar on Sunday (December 12) in Mumbai, Maharashtra Minister of Water Resources and NCP Chairman Jayant Patil said on Friday.

Amid the fear of Omicron, no one should visit Mumbai to wish Pawar and instead watch the virtual rally through Facebook, YouTube and social media, Patil said.

The virtual rally was organized following all the rules of COVID-19. The program will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Nehru Center in Worli and will run until 1:30 p.m., the senior NCP official informed.

On Pawar’s birthday, Patil said the party will also launch a mobile app, which will help with coordination between the party and its workers.

Also, ‘Swabhiman Saptah’ was held from December 14th to 20th. In this context, various activities such as the health check-up camp, the blood donation camp, the distribution of medicines, the planting of trees will be carried out at the party district level.
