The Apple ecosystem is a well-interconnected environment, and that includes AirPods ($ 80 on eBay). As long as the same Apple ID account is shared between your iPhone ($ 380 on Amazon), MacBook ($ 630 at Amazon) and iPad ($ 194 at Amazon), it’s incredibly easy to connect your AirPods to all your Apple devices at the same time, whether you want to listen to music on your phone or watch a movie on your tablet.

Apple now sells four different types of AirPods: Standard AirPods (second generation), new third generation AirPods, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. But the setup process is the same between all models, even if you own the original 2016 AirPods.

Here’s a more detailed look at how to get started with your new AirPods.

Connect your AirPods to all your Apple devices at once

After unpacking the AirPods, unlock your iPhone, then open the AirPods charging case next to the phone (or your iPad). Don’t do anything else. After a second or two, a pop-up on your iPhone will ask you if you want to connect the AirPods to it. Faucet Connect. A few seconds later, the pop-up will show the current battery level of your AirPods and the charging case.

Yes it is that easy.

That’s all we can say about it! Depending on your AirPod model, you may also see some additional tips and instructions on this pop-up screen. For example, if you have 2nd Generation AirPods, Third Generation AirPods, or Pro AirPods and you haven’t set up the “Hey, Siri“on your iPhone, you will be prompted to do so when pairing your AirPods.

To start using AirPods with your iPad, open Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen and tap AirPlay button. You should see your AirPods listed as an option. On your Mac, you can open Control Center (assuming Big Sur or later is installed) and do the same.

If you have any problems, make sure Bluetooth is turned on and your IPhone software is up to date. Keep your AirPods in their case with the cover closed and press and hold the pairing button until it flashes white. Hold the case with your AirPods inside near your iPhone and open the cover.

Now that your AirPods are connected, you’ll want to make sure you know all of their tips. We have guides to get the most out of the standard AirPods, the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max.
