Tanner O’Tremba Drafted by the San Francisco Giants

TUCSON, Ariz.— Arizona baseball outfielder Tanner O’Tremba was selected by the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, the final day of the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft.

O’Tremba’s 15th round selection was the 275th in program history and second of the year.

After two seasons at Texas Tech and 30 appearances with the Wildcats in 2021, O’Tremba had a breakthrough year in 2022 that resulted in a Pac-12 All-Conference selection. In 64 starts for Arizona, he recorded a .351 batting average with 52 runs scored, 21 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs and 56 RBIs. He also drew 31 walks to help produce an impressive .446 on-base percentage. O’Tremba’s 91 base hits were second on the team and fifth in the Pac-12.

On defense, the Wildcats’ daily starting outfielder recorded a .991 save percentage on 114 chances and had three assists.

Over four college seasons, O’Tremba helped his teams earn four NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by a pair of College World Series spots in 2019 and 2021.

In addition to the first All-Conference honors of his career in 2022, O’Tremba also earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, the Coral Gables NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team, and a Pac-12 player from the week. selection.
