When is Android 12 coming to your phone? All we know

You can experience Android 12 right now if you own the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, which were unveiled in 2018, as well as the new Google handsets, including the Pixel 3A, Pixel 3A XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4A. Unfortunately, anyone who keeps the original Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 2 XL no longer receives software and security updates. However, if you absolutely must install Android 12 on a Pixel phone that is no longer receiving software support, you can (at your own risk) try the Android 12 community versions. XDA Developers has a preview of a few early versions of Android 12 for the Pixel 2, but expect plenty of bugs and the ability to brick the phone by tinkering this way. A nice perk of Android is having this kind of customization available, but it’s definitely not for everyone.
Samsung’s One UI 4 with Android 12 rollout has started
Samsung has started the rollout of Android 12, which includes its One UI 4 customization, starting with many devices in its 2021 phone line. This includes the series, the and the . the , Samsung’s low-end $ 250 5G phone released earlier this month, comes with Android 11 built in.
For other Galaxy phones released in 2020 and before, the timeline varies for possible update to Android 12 and One UI 4. Since this is coming from the Samsung forums, we would take the timeline with a grain of salt until the official announcements arrive. OnePlus phones’ Android 12 bump postponed
OnePlus had planned to roll out its Android 12 update with its custom OxygenOS 12 to the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, but appears to have encountered an issue. The update was initially rolled out to phones earlier this month, but following reports that the software was riddled with bugs the update was subsequently withdrawn, reports Android Police. We’ve reached out to OnePlus to check on the status of the Android 12 update and its plans to update previous OnePlus phones, and will update this article when it becomes available.
In general, OnePlus typically provides around three years of support for its devices, with the manufacturer providing a Android 11 update this year at its from 2018 and the from 2019.
OnePlus is also in full swingwith parent company Oppo. The company announced in September that this merged operating system that incorporates OnePlus ‘OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS will debut in 2022 on OnePlus’ next phone. While we don’t have any details on this upcoming phone just yet, it would be the OnePlus 10 lineup consisting of a .
Motorola’s My UX with Android 12 getting ready for 2022
Motorola revealed in a blog post on Tuesday that several of its 2020 and 2021 Android phones will upgrade to Android 12 from February 2022. This includes the which debuted this year, the Moto Razr 5G and the 2020 edition of the Moto Razr. The blog post details several of the Android 12 features the phone will adopt, such as customizable system colors and improved privacy controls, which are combined with design cues from Motorola’s My UX.
Other high-end phones
